There are many information about Pectus deformity. I read most of them but many o them not clear what causes to curve to sternum.
As i know sternum is middle of the chest. For this curving there should be some causes from birth or in childhood.
Does anyone know anything about the rolle of sternum of excavatum?
As finish, in ravitch procedure, the sternum been cutted? Concave sternum wall is our life now. But i do not want to it for rest of my life…

About Concave Sternum and Effect on P.E:
Pectus excavatum that is also known as funnel chest occurs when the cartilage overgrows onto itself. It causes the sternum to curve inward and the child’s breast looks like it has been pushed in. The heart is pushed from the middle whenever this condition occurs. The heart rotated to the left side of the chest affecting the ability of blood pumping. So during exercise, the child may get tired very quickly due to the problem of heart pump of blood. It increases the breathing problem as the curve of the sternum cause a squeezing effect.
